Our distribution centre in Venlo has recently opened and operates with a combination of manual processes, semi-automation, and a clear ambition toward high automation with which we supply our E-com and Retail.
Service Technician
As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuity, reliability, and performance of our automated logistics systems and machinery within the distribution centre. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing technical installations and automation solutions to support daily operations.
You will work closely with operations, management, and external service partners to minimize downtime, improve system performance, and contribute to the further development of our automation landscape.
Your role at Søstrene Grene
- Ensure the correct and safe use of various machines, installations, and technical components
- Train employees and managers in the safe and correct operation of machines and automation systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to ensure continuous operation of our automation systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and ensure quick resolution of technical disruptions
- Collaborate with external suppliers, maintenance partners, and service organizations when needed
- Work systematically with the registration and reporting of downtime, malfunctions, and technical improvements
- Ensure machines and automation systems perform optimally with minimal operational interruptions
- Carry out planned maintenance activities, testing, and inspections to minimize the impact on operations
- Identify acute technical problems independently and know when to escalate or seek additional support
- Communicate technical or automation-related issues that affect operations to management in a timely manner
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize disruption to operational processes
- Contribute actively to the optimization and further development of automation and technical processes within the warehouse

About you:
- MBO-level education in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology, or a related technical field
- Experience in a technical service, maintenance, or automation-focused role within logistics, warehousing, production, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of automated systems, conveyors, scanners, sensors, and mechanical/electrical components is considered a strong advantage
- Experience with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and technical problem-solving
- Comfortable working with maintenance systems, operational software, and basic reporting tools
- Fluent in English and/or Dutch
- Responsible, structured, and proactive in your way of working
- Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues and external service partners
- Flexible and stress-resistant during operational disruptions and peak periods
- Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
- Hands-on mentality with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- In terms of personality, you are solution-oriented, eager to improve, and motivated by optimizing technical processes and automation performance

Practical information:
Starting date: July 1, 2026
Location: Venlo (the Netherlands)
Onboarding: Introduction to our Venlo operation in the first week together with training on the job
Hours: 37 hours (fulltime)
Working hours: Day shift but during peak season we expect flexibility which means we could work in a 3-shift scenario
