Søstrene Grene is a Danish family-owned company that was founded in 1973 and currently has more than 325 stores in 17 countries. Our stores offer a wide range of home accessories, furniture, kitchen utensils, hobby items, party supplies, gift wrapping, office supplies, children's interiors and toys, as well as seasonal products. New products arrive in stores every week.

In Venlo, the new distribution centre will be opened in September 2025 with which we supply our E-com and Retail. The DC is equipped with the latest technologies and has a size of 45,000 m2, where at least 100 to 250 FTE will be operationally employed. Fully geared to the growth target for the coming years.
 

Service Technician 

As a Service technician, you are responsible to ensure that our machines and automation operate reliably, considering safety, work environment, and economy.

Your role at Søstrene Grene
•    Ensure the correct and safe use of various machines and components.
•    Train employees and managers to operate the machines correctly and safely.
•    Perform ongoing maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure continuous operation of our automation.
•    Utilize our various partners and their service organizations.
•    Work systematically with the registration of downtime, errors, etc.


Main Tasks
•    Ensure that the machines run optimally every day with as few operational stops as possible.
•    Perform planned maintenance to minimize the impact on operations - including testing and troubleshooting to ensure everything functions optimally.
•    Identify and repair acute problems and know where to seek assistance if needed.
•    Communicate automation issues that affect operations to management promptly.
•    Plan work tasks to minimize disruption to operations.
•    Expected to work independently and, when necessary, collaborate with the Head of E-com Fulfilment, the management team, and other relevant stakeholders, including updating, collaborating, and asking for help with tasks if needed.
•    Be a good role model and lead by example, demonstrating the right work ethic, flexibility, stability, and team spirit.
•    Expected to be solution-oriented and help optimize and develop processes within the work area.


About you:
•    You have MBO + / HBO level with relevant knowledge in electronics, automation or other technical fields 
•    Work experience in service and maintenance is preferred
•    Work experience in assembly and commissioning preferred
•    You are strong in keeping an overview, even with many different tasks
•    You are a good communicator and know how to enthusiast our users and operational sisters.
•    Master both Duch and English on a professional level
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel 
•    You have a proactive attitude and can think "out of the box"
•    Taking responsibility comes naturally to you; You work carefully and independently
•    In terms of personality, you are driven, eager to improve and customer-oriented

Practical information:
Starting date: the 1st of June 2025
Location: Venlo (the Netherlands)
Onboarding: You start with an training program of 2 weeks in Aarhus (Denmark) and will be trained as of the 19th of June at supplier of the CMC packing system in Italy.
Hours: 37 hours (fulltime)
