Søstrene Grene is a Danish family-owned company that was founded in 1973 and currently has more than 325 stores in 17 countries. Our stores offer a wide range of home accessories, furniture, kitchen utensils, hobby items, party supplies, gift wrapping, office supplies, children's interiors and toys, as well as seasonal products. New products arrive in stores every week.

 

In Venlo, the new distribution centre will be opened in mid-2025 with which we supply our E-commerce and Retail. The DC is equipped with the latest technologies and has a size of 45,000 m2, where 100 to 250 FTE are operationally employed. Fully geared to the growth target for the coming years.

 

IT Support Engineer

 

Are you passionate about providing the best user support and creating the best user experience? Are you also technically strong with a robust background in IT infrastructure and thrive on being a problem solver in our IT Operations team? We are looking for an IT support Engineer who will primarily service users at our new Distribution Center in Venlo but also be providing support to offices and stores globally online.

Your role at Søstrene Grene

We imagine that you are trained as an IT Supporter or data technician with a strong focus on IT infrastructure. Your tasks will include:

· providing end-user support and help desk services, troubleshoot software/hardware, and training other sisters

· managing servers, networks, PCs, printers, and other hardware.

· Providing Warehouse Systems Support: Maintain WMS, barcode scanners, printers, and IoT devices.

· Managing access control, ensure data security, and meet compliance standards.

· Coordinating with vendors and central IT teams on projects and escalations.

· Project Support: Assist with upgrades, rollouts, and disaster recovery planning.

· Maintaining asset inventories, compliance logs, and knowledge bases.

· Take part in Emergency Response to resolve critical issues quickly.

· And other incidental tasks that will also be part of the role

· You will work in an IT environment based on Microsoft technologies, such as Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, and Microsoft Windows 10 platforms on PC and POS devices, but also network equipment from HP, Cisco, and Meraki.

· At the same time, you should be comfortable providing onsite and telephone support and not necessarily knowing the exact composition of your tasks.

 

The Team

You will be part of a competent and dedicated team that together ensures professional service and support for the entire organization. We are a total IT department of 25 sisters (that's what we call each other - regardless of gender), of which the IT Operations team consists of 6 sisters.

 

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be part of a team with many tasks, a good drive, and not least camaraderie and humor. It is important for us to have good frameworks in our daily lives so that we can go home from work every day with a smile on our faces and peace of mind because it should be nice to go to work – even if we have many tasks. We work together across our teams and help each other where it is needed.

 

We are rarely all gathered in the same location, but online contact ensures that we have a common spirit and feel togetherness both professionally and socially, no matter where we are.

 

About you:

· You have an MBO+/HBO level with relevant knowledge in the field of IT

· Trained IT supporter or IT data technician with some years of experience.

· Solid background in IT infrastructure management

· Experience with user support.

· Proficiency in English and Dutch is an advantage.

· Experience with preparing IT hardware and software.

· Experience with Windows 10 and later, Server 2012R2, and later.

· Network knowledge of IPv4 and network configuration.

· Experience with printer support (Canon).

· Experience with Azure and Office 365.

· HP Aruba & Fortigate

· You are strong in keeping an overview, even with many different tasks;

· You have a proactive attitude and can think "out of the box";

· Taking responsibility comes naturally to you; You work carefully and independently;

· In terms of personality, you are driven, eager to improve and customer-oriented.

 

You are an engaged person who has a great interest in working with IT and is good at communicating with users. You have a strong service mindset and the desire to help others comes naturally to you. At the same time, you are good at organizing your work and completing tasks on time. You are good at collaborating with others but can also work independently. And of course, you want to develop your skills in the IT field.

Onboarding: An induction program of about 2 weeks in Aarhus (Denmark)
