Søstrene Grene is a Danish family-owned company that was founded in 1973 and currently has more than 325 stores in 17 countries. Our stores offer a wide range of home accessories, furniture, kitchen utensils, hobby items, party supplies, gift wrapping, office supplies, children's interiors and toys, as well as seasonal products. New products arrive in stores every week.
In Venlo, the new distribution centre will be opened in September 2025 with which we supply our E-com and Retail. The DC is equipped with the latest technologies and has a size of 45,000 m2, where at least 100 to 250 FTE will be operationally employed. Fully geared to the growth target for the coming years.
Facility Assistant
The Facility Assistant supports the efficient day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of company premises. They ensure that facilities are clean, well-maintained, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations, creating a safe and comfortable environment for staff, customers, and visitors.
Your role at Søstrene Grene
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems, fixtures, and furniture.
- Monitor and restock facility supplies, including cleaning products, PPE, and office consumables.
- Support external contractors during scheduled maintenance or repair work.
- Conduct daily inspections to identify potential hazards, faults, or areas for improvement.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
- Respond promptly to facility-related requests and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incident reports, and asset inventories.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and security policies.
- Supporting Facility Coordinator
- Undertake training in health & safety, first aid, and emergency procedures.
- Develop knowledge of building systems and equipment to assist in preventative maintenance.
- Contribute to facility improvement projects and suggest efficient measures

- Facilities remain safe, clean, and fully operational at all times.
- Maintenance issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Positive feedback from staff and visitors regarding facility standards.
- Compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Accurate and up-to-date maintenance and inspection records

About you:
- Minimum MBO educational level with relevant knowledge in the field Warehouse/Logistics.
- Relevant experience in a similar position, preferably within a distribution center
- Strong ability to oversee multiple tasks while maintaining a clear overall perspective.
- Proficient in the English language at a professional level.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Onboarding: Total of 4 weeks onboarding and Training in Venlo with our Facility Coordinator
Hours: 37 hours (fulltime)
