The P&C Advisor is the first point of contact for our stores within the UK and will act as a trusted partner to local retail leadership teams. 

You will provide hands-on support and guidance in all People & Culture related matters, primarily within operational questions, ensuring that policies, processes, and initiatives are not only implemented consistently but also tailored to UK employment law. 

This role is based in Manchester, working closely and supporting our P&C Business Partner. Travel to our office in Sheffield will be required to build strong relationships with our Area Team to understand and support the challenges faced by our retail teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

This role offers plenty of variety, but your primary focus will be driving the administrative side of store openings. You’ll play a key role in recruitment for new stores, sourcing and screening candidates, and managing the essential processes that make recruitment and onboarding seamless. 

  • Act as a first point of contact for Country, Area & Store Managers on P&C related matters. 

  • Serve as local superuser and provide first line support in Same System & Emply. 

  • Deliver hands-on P&C support and expert advice on employee relations, performance management and compliance issues. 

  • Support our stores with Christmas recruitment during peak trading, working closely with store managers to ensure teams are fully staffed, enabling the store managers to feel confident in their recruitment decisions.   

  • Support all stages of the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and internal People & Culture procedures. This includes preparing accurate documentation and process-related paperwork. 

  • Ensure consistent implementation of P&C policies and procedures across all stores. 

  • Monitor and report P&C metrics (e.g., turnover, absence rates).

Experience 

  • Demonstrated experience as a P&C Advisor or similar HR generalist role within the retail sector. 

  • Proven ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. 

Knowledge 

  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law with the ability to apply it confidently in complex situations. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Trade Unions and TUPE processes. 

 

Skills & Attributes 

  • Resilient and adaptable, able to balance operational projects with hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Confident communicator and influencer with credibility at senior level. 

  • Possesses a flexible mindset, embracing change and adjusting quickly to evolving priorities and business needs.
